About the subject

Why learn Quranic Arabic?

Quranic Arabic is the classical Arabic in which the Quran was revealed. Learning even its basics changes the way you hear the Quran: instead of relying entirely on a translation, you begin to recognise words and how sentences are built.

Arabic words are built on roots, usually of three letters, that carry a core meaning. Many related words grow from a single root, so learning one root can unlock several words at once. Many words also recur throughout the Quran, which means a focused vocabulary goes a long way.

Grammar matters because small changes in a word’s pattern or ending can change who is doing what in a sentence. Recognising these patterns helps you follow the meaning of verses more directly.

The focus is understanding the language of the Quran. Lessons are one-to-one in English or Urdu, so explanations can be matched to your level.
