About the subject

Islamic studies for young learners

Children learn their faith best when it is explained simply, warmly and at their own pace. That is the aim of this course: to give young learners a clear, positive understanding of what Muslims believe and how they live.

Young children learn through short explanations, repetition and stories. A child who hears a story about honesty or kindness is more likely to remember the lesson than one who only memorises a rule. Practical steps help too, turning what is learned into everyday habits.

One-to-one lessons let the teacher follow the child’s attention, slow down when something is new and move on when the child is ready. They also give shy children space to ask questions they might not ask in a group.

Parents remain a child’s most important teachers. A little practice at home between lessons helps what is learned in class to stay.
